Salmonella Rapid Test is a sandwich lateral flow
immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of
Salmonella in food sample.

PRINCIPLE OF THE ASSAY
Salmonella Rapid Test is based on sandwich lateral flow
immunochromatographic assay. The test device has a testing window.
The testing window has an invisible T (test) zone and C (control)
zone. When sample is applied into the sample hole on the device,
the liquid will laterally flow on the surface of the test strip. If
there is enough Salmonella in the sample, a visible T band will
appear. The C band should always appear after a sample is applied,
indicating a valid result. By this means, the device can accurately
indicate the presence of Salmonella in the sample.

1. Frozen meat, egg products, dairy products, and other processed
foods : smash the solid foods or emulsify the powdery foods with
glass rod. Measure 25g (25ml) and put it into 500ml wide-mouth
bottle with 225ml BP solution. Cultivate 4h at the 36±1℃ (Dry egg
products for 18-24h).Then measure 10ml and add into 100ml MM or TTB
enrichment broth, cultivate 18-24h at 42℃. Or measure 10ml and
subcultivate into 100 ml SC enrichment broth ,cultivate 18-24 h at
the 36±1℃ to get the last test solutions.
2.Fresh meat, fresh eggs ,fresh milk or other raw foods: smash the
solid foods or emulsify the powdery foods with glass rod. Measure
25g(25ml) and put it into 25ML sterile Normal Saline and mix. Then
add into 100ml MM or TTB enrichment broth, Cultivate 24h at 42℃; or
measure 25ml and subcultivate into 100 ml SC enrichment broth
,cultivate 18-24 h at the 36±1℃ to get the last test solutions.

3.Take out the cassette from the foil pouch and place it
4.Suck the broth and drip 3 drops into the assay sample hole “S”.
5.Interpret the result after 5 minutes. Result after 10 minutes is
considered as invalid.
INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS
Positive: The presence of both C band and T band, no matter T band is clear
Negative: Only clear C band appears.
Invalid: No colored band appears in C zone, no matter whether T band
The kit can be stored at room temperature (2-30°C). The test kit is
stable through the expiration date (18 months) marked on the foil
pouch. DO NOT FREEZE. Do not store the test kit in direct sunlight.
For best results, please strictly adhere to these instructions.
All reagents must be at room temperature before running the assay.
Do not remove test cassette from its pouch until immediately before

standard batch unit. Do not mix components from different lot
Salmonella Rapid Test is for in vitro testing only. For an accurate
result, It is suggested to apply other method such as PCR for final
determination in practice.
